The CEDA Topic Selection Committee has received and produced a number of controversy papers for consideration. The full list follows below. U.S. Agricultural Policy - Bryan Grayson, Nick Brown, Cameron Norris & Phil Rappmund – Open Comment Thread 2. Arms Control – Greta Stahl – Open Comment Thread 3. Education – Stephanie Eisenberg – Open Comment Thread ** This paper is still being finished and will be available shortly. 4. Genetic Engineering - Scott Elliott – Open comment thread 5. Health Care - Josh Gonzalez & Liz Wiley – Open Comment Thread 6. International Institutions - Casey Stevens – Open Comment Thread 7. Labor Rights – Gordon Stables – Open Comment Thread 8. Reparations – Andy Ellis – Open Comment Thread 9. Russia – Open Comment Thread -----"US-Russian Bilateral Cooperation A Preliminary 2008 Topic Evaluation" by Greta Stahl -----"Increasing Bilateral Cooperation with the Russian Federation" - Suggested Controversy for the 2008-2009 CEDA Topic by Seth Gannon, Alex Lamballe, Calum Matheson, & Brian Rubaie. We are still expecting a report on education and some materials (although not a full report) about Latin America. The only reason that any topic is not mentioned above is that a paper was not submitted. Ultimately this stage in the process is influenced by the individuals willing to make the investment of their time and energy. We are very appreciative of all of these efforts. This is a tremendously strong list of options and entire community owes thanks to these authors. Please contact Gordon Stables if you have questions or comments beyond the individual topics. |
